The Role Of Art Materials On The Body - 884 Words

The drawing helped me analyze every detail of the different body positions he made and some parts of his facial expression. The art materials that were used to record the observation were, white blank sheets of paper of a sketchbook and charcoal. Charcoal gave me the easiness to draw several lines in a faster manner. Furthermore, the next day, which were Sunday, I would sit in my desk and draw Scruffy once again. My desk is found in my room, and it is a quiet area where I used to concentrate and draw an image of him from memory. Unlike Saturdays’ drawings, the drawings from Sundays were much different. On these days, I drew one image that it caught my attention from those thirty minutes or an image where he stayed in in a certain body position for a great amount of time. In figure 1.2, the drawing is done on Sunday from the observation done in March 26, 2016. Although this method helped me with my observation, this method it is not commonly used to observe dogs. Because a dog can act fast in just minutes or seconds, it is difficult to achieve a precise depiction of them. Thus, majority of observations are recorded with digital pictures or video recording cameras. Two of the main sources that I found, explain their different methods. For instance, the Animal Society for the Prevention of Cr uelty to Animals (ASPCA) observed dog’s behavior using digital camera and leaving explanations of what their body language showed.
